I called them, and finally someone got back to me. She informed that they have openings, and we should be able to get him in in the ( Read more... )

I'm sure he'll be able to have visitors, I think they just have to be approved by the staff. It says on the information guide they sent me that visitation is up to the staff/therapists.

I am pretty sure I will be able to, but it is all up to the staff/therapists, etc. I just hope he won't be scared.

How old is he?
And I know it would be hard to do but really if it is the best thing for him, and it really sounds like he is out of control, then you need to do it. He could later cause harm to himself or someone else if he doesn't get help. *hugs* It is a tough decision to make but just keep in mind that you're only doing it to help him and because you love him.

He is 5, and I know it's the best thing. In fact, since I wrote this he has had 2 more breakdowns, our house is trashed, and we almost had another trip to the hospital tonight to get him sedated. He still isn't totally calm, but at least in bed, if early. My mother in law is coming on wed. to help out (\o/yay!)

Holy shiz, I didn't know it would be that long. That said, it's probably better this way. If anything happens, if any new behavior crops up, they'll see it and have enough time to deal with it and figure it out. I know it's going to be super hard for you, to have him gone for even the amount of time you THOUGHT he was going to be gone, though. :(

Thoughts are with you guys. ♥
