I can't even recall an item on their menu that has bacon in it, so it's extra awesome that they use it just to flavor the pinto beans :)

Begs the question of whether or not being absentmindedly served food that was prepared with the essence of meat would violate someone's Lent. It would never have even occurred to me to ask if I'd been in his place.
