"Bye, Emmy," said Lily, glancing back. "You be good for Uncle Lennox. Don't cry too much at Uncle Chris, baby. It bothers him."

Lily squeezed Eddie's fingers, moving a little closer to him.

"Ready, Eddie?"

She couldn't help but grin. Nearly forty years old, and just being around Eddie still made her feel seventeen.

Eddie didn't take her right back inside to their room, though, instead walking a little further to the other side, to an area he'd been clearing himself in his spare time -- which he tended to have a lot of on the island.

"This is where I'm gonna build our house," he told her. "Right here. What do you think?"

Lily wrapped an arm around Eddie's waist, leaning her chin on his shoulder, her grin widening.

"I think it'll be perfect, Eddie," she said, her tone slightly dreamy. "Just a little house for you and me and Emmy. How could it not be perfect?"

"And there's lots of space back there," said Eddie, gesturing at his clearing, "so when we need to make it bigger, we can just add onto it. And it's still really close to Cutter and Lennox and Neil and Amy. Just a little place to call our own."
