Hedwig's room is small, dimly-lit (thanks to a stray scarf thrown over the lamp) and full of clothes strewn everywhere, and a surprising array of wigs (which she doesn't need to wear now that Scarlet has turned her into a woman, but she still does wear now and then because it's easier than styling her own hair ( Read more... )

"How absolutely cozy," he murmurs with a crooked smile, shutting the door behind him and making sure not to step on anything that shouldn't be stepped on. He slips his coat off in a fluid motion and drapes it over the back of a chair.

"It's not much, but it's home," she says, taking a seat on the edge of the bed to untie her shoes. It's the only way she can reach them, really; leaning in a corset is awkward.

"It looked a lot bigger before I unpacked. The gods of luggage sent me here with a lot of stuff, at least--I'd hate to have come here with just one change of clothes and nothing else from my old life."

"I suppose they would not dare leave you without a full wardrobe," he chuckles. He stands there watching her intently as he flicks the buttons of his vest loose one by one.

"It's easier than having to buy one here," she grins. "Everything's so expensive, and if you haven't got a job... well, you won't find me objecting to the bar putting us all in silly costumes. I enjoy it."

With her shoes off, she turns her attention to the rest of her costume. "Do you unhook these, or loosen the laces first?"
