Shades have a way of doing that, especially around the campus area.
One of my mailroom work-study students has a two year old who constantly pulls down her window shades. One day a few weeks ago she asked me if she could take some 1" nails to put it back up, I sort of told her (politely) that that's the reason they keep on getting pulled down in the first place. I gave her some dry wall anchors and they're still up.
Your house looks like the walls are plaster, not drywall, so you'll want the small plastic wedge anchors, not the screw-in drywall type.
I also realized early on in my apartment-dwelling life that life is a whole lot easier if I resigned myself to replacing burnt-out bulbs instead of waiting for the maintenance guys to do it.
*glares* I know how to change a light-bulb, and unless that new bulb is faulty the actual light fixture does not work. It's annoying enough there is a useless switch on my wall that does not control it.
Haha, but thanks for your advice... hmm. I really don't have the tools or time to do that with my shade, but when Rick comes around maybe I can ask him about what can be done to prevent it from falling again, etc. Perhaps he has the right kind of anchors on hand.
Now, now, now, I didn't mean to imply that you lacked the cognitive capacity or the will power to change the bulb. Now me, on the other hand, am a Polish State-employed maintenance guy; how many of us do you think it takes to change a bulb? :)
You know I'm always here to help. Can't make any big changes (without pissing off your landlord), but can at least troubleshoot.

Good thing we're on good terms, haha.
