Time to Doubt, To Break Out

When faced with a challenge, Jesse never usually took it seriously. He was already more than good at most everything thrown his way, so why bother worrying? But when challenged by a certain Miss Rachel Berry, and over a matter of seduction, no less, well, this was something he had taken to heart ( Read more... )

She knew he'd been planning something, but for him to use their song against her was just plain unfair.

It was almost too convenient. Rachel's parents were fiercely protective of her, and to think that they'd leave them alone on their own was almost desperately hard to achieve. Rachel had almost been convinced that Jesse wouldn't find a way in.

But he did.

Sitting by him in front of the piano, she grinned, knowing full well that he had to have something up his sleeve, but too curious for her own good regardless. "Absolutely."

He flashed her a quick, easy smirk before he resumed playing, crooning the lyrics softly. He sounded just as good as the first time they sang together; actually, no. He sounded ten times better than that. Talent could only improve with time.

As they sang, Jesse made sure of certain things: a casual knee bump there, using a lyric to blow gently on her ear here. Simple things. Made to distract. Though he did know she couldn't be swayed by just those. It would take a little more time and effort, something he was fully willing to commit to.

Rachel had to admit that she was impressed. She'd been beyond impressed when he'd performed his rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, as horrible as that night had been, but this was outstanding. Of course she was enjoying it, doing her best to join in on the vocals alongside him just as well as she had before.

She was noticing the little things. The knee, the accentuated lyrics-- of course he could sweep her off her feet, she knew that already. But to sweep her off to bed?

Tonight was the perfect opportunity, of course, she knew that, but she was still waiting for a true show-stopper.

Of course, Jesse could sweep her off to bed as well. That had already been proven a few times before, some moments he was more proud of than others. But tonight, he would be veering off from his typical approach; he wouldn't be as upfront about what he wanted from her. He would tease her, set her on fire, make her want him as if he was the thing she needed most in the world. The challenge was to only get her to crack, not to sleep with her. Jesse was fine with waiting for that until she was ready which he hoped was soon.

When the number was finished, Jesse turned and swung one leg around the piano bench, and scooted closer to her, so that she was more or less tucked in between his legs. "I think we just gave our first time a run for it's money." He noted with a grin.
