What a shame about the plane trip! Especially since the Coast Starlight is one of the most beautiful Amtrak runs in the country. Sorry you'll miss it.

Yeah, I took the CS last time I went to visit him. It was in April & absolutely beautiful. I was looking forward to it again. And even sleeping in coach is comfortable.
