Feb 23, 2011 03:47

A bit of a quiet week this week. Not many new songs that really caught my eye, but I'm a bit wiped out by MMD 5th anyhow. In contrast, a ton of new songs hit my shortlist just today, but I think I'm going to defer them for a post later this week or on the Sunday as the next weekly roundup ( Read more... )

GYARI's videos are always so good. And his version of You from Higurashi just descends into crazy adlibbing on the piano.

Wander Girl makes me want to sing YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND BABY RIGHT ROUND LIKE A RECORD BABY RIGHT ROUND ROUND ROUND

I saved Cardiod for the end because I love the original and also I am catching up right before bed. I love how it uses Miku's not-quite-real-ness to such effect. Anyone who calls any version of Cardiod boring can biiiiite meeeeeee

Wander Girl kind of made me feel old(er) for remembering the genre name.

I really want to romanize that Gumi song title as "Disraeli Shop" but that's probably stretching it . . . :'D

also the Kaito song is "Singing Earth," subtle difference!!

O fine. /fixes

My dictionary helpfully told me that Disura meant 'to diss', which made me blink pretty hard.

Hahaha I RETURN DAYS LATER HAVING DECODED THE SONG

"To dis(s)" is indeed exactly the verb being used here, it is a hilarious English slang-Japanese verb conjunction portmanteau

Basically in the song Gumi runs a business where she brings people in and has them insult her (thus the "-rare," which is passive form)

Random Weird Translation Thing: the kanji in the title does indeed mean "shop" but also can (and in this case does) refer to the person who runs the shop, so it's more like . . . "Disrare-er" . . .

In conclusion this is the most hilariously awkward song title to translate of all time

(great song though)

I loooooove Remote Control and Wander Girl! <3

That Kaito MMD one is awesome but that can't possibly be every Kaito.D: Isnt there a naked-muffler one too? ....a-am I the only one who really wants a Lat Kaito? ._.

FOUR KAITO THINGS IN ONE POST (even if one doesnt have him singing and another he doesn't even sing much) I am a happer camper today.
