Your weekly ranking is slightly put off for this post, as we go through some of the better or more stand-out offerings for Miku Append in the last week and a half. If I had to sum up Append's launch in one word, it would probably be 'floaty' - most of the Append software makes for very soft notes and appears to drive people to make strange lilting

Solid's my favorite so far, but I think Dark's nice too. Why do you seem to hate Round Glasses and Moonlight Bugs so much though? I think it's a pretty nice track and the guitar at the end doesn't really bother me that much.

I don't hate it - the fact it's included in the post says that much. It's just not really my kind of track; between the slow tempo and the soft voices I'm kind of flagging at the two minute mark and feel done with it shortly afterwards. I just honestly smile at the fact that right near the end it flings the other instruments out the window and the guitarist goes for it like a guy who's got a couple minutes to live. ... I honestly can't remember why I said creepy - probably just that Dark kind of sounds off to me.

Hehe, I kinda get what you're saying about the guitar. It does sound like the guitarist's desperate or something... "Creepy"? Perhaps 'cause the vocal's so breathy?

Man, I just noticed it hit #3 on ranking, too. I guess now that I've come around to kous I need a trendy pet producer to dislike while everyone else adores them.

Among just the new voices though, I think I like Solid the most. The other ones I do like in certain contexts, but they haven't really won me over yet.
I want to like Dilemma more than I actually do. That squeak is.... squeaky :/

... well, okay, we have to take into account completely new Miku blah blah producers need to hit their stride etc. ... I dunno, I'm just a traditionalist.

I'd actually really like to hear a good cover of something like Love is War with Dark.

Like I sort-of-said a couple threads up, it's not that I dislike Dark or Dark's songs - it's just... strange to me. That's not necessarily bad; what I mean is more that it's arguably (if we ignore Sweet) the furthest removed from what I'd now expect Miku's voice to sound like. I liked AGE, I liked the start of Glasses, so I expect to come around to it with more examples. It just doesn't grab me right now.
Man, I should poll this stuff now people have checked them out.
