BSG Drabbles: Five Old (newly discovered) Prompts!

Jan 09, 2014 17:14

As with everything I've done in BSG fandom, I'm incredibly late to the game in discovering ar_drabbles but did today in a moment of conference call boredom and was inspired to take up some very old prompts. Apologies to the wonderful writers who did justice to these as many as three years ago ( Read more... )

Hauntings is epic angst.

I love the progression of Higer Up on the Ladder.

Nice work. Great way to kill the boredom of a conference call, for sure.

Thanks so much! Not sure I will ever be able to pay attention during a conference call again now that I know this distraction exists!

You discovered a bunch of prompts and overhauled your journal, too, looks like! These are so fun. My favorite is Viper Pilot Groupies. Thanks for the treasure trove of drabbles to enjoy!

Thanks so much!

I did overhaul my journal but I still don't like it. The text is too small and now I realize the comments are a really confusing format. I suppose I will have to try again! :)

These are all lovely, and have the spark that makes a drabble zing :-) The angst of the first feels like what Bill must have gone through every night during the occupation. The 2nd...ouch. I hurt with Laura here. You nailed the exhaustion she would have been feeling at this point, and his awareness of it is perfectly Bill.

The playfulness of the 3rd is awesome :-) And I kind of love the idea of Husker and the Viper pilot groupies, and this little possible peek into Laura's younger days!

The progression of their relationship as shown in ladder clumsiness is wonderful, and poignant when she thinks how long it's been since someone held her.

And the last :-) Last line is perfect, and the part about annoyed or relieved that she's wearing pants is such a "guy" thing!

A great set of drabbles--you really have a strong grip on this format! Bravo :-)

Thanks so much for reading and for the kind words and encouragement. I didn't think I liked writing drabbles but the genre is growing on me!

Also, thanks for finding something to like about the last one. I woke up in the middle of the night last night -- because I am obviously losing my mind for something like this to wake me up -- and realized it was so out of character for Laura and was kicking myself for writing something so absurd. :)
