Fully agree with your rant. Not good on names though, s'pose you could always call him LJ in honour of this social network or Leroy Jethro Gibbs :)
BTW I find lj behaves better when you upload pics via Photobucket - course you need to have them there in the first place

I am so glad you were able to save the little fellow! PLEASE post pics soon! I'm dying to see him! I know this might sound weird, but I actually fantasise about coming across a little kitten in precisely this way and bringing him in and looking after him. In my head he's a little ginger boy I call Dexter, and Jemima mothers him, and Harley plays with him and he grows up goofy and a bit silly but very loving, with all 3 cats getting along really well. There see - I'm obviously bonkers!

You never know Xan stranger things have happened, and I'm sure H&J would love to welcome another member to their fold. Here in Bilbao you could find many stray kittehs around, problem would be smuggling back into the UK..

I've been fantasising about it for years! LOL! I know I could rescue a kitten - I worked for the RSPCA for years and we rescued a lot and rehomed them. But somehow the fantasy is finding one like Libby did. I always worry because I had 3 cats once before and they didn't get on and one of them went to live next door. It's such a risk with cats as they can take against each other. I'd love it if a 'meant to be' one showed up and my two loved him/her so that wasn't a problem. Ah well - I guess I'll keep dreaming!

Thoroughly agree with your rant. Pets are creatures every bit as valuable and mostly way kinder and more likeable than people.

The little tyke seems as if he knows what's good for him and is prepared to repay you in love and trust. Mind you 2 months, isn't that barely the age at which kittens are sold on anyway?

Look forward to a pic, and hope he proves a wonderful addition to your family.

As for names, I've never named anthing in my life: Tills adopted me for her retirement, no kids - even the kitten that was supposed to be mine was aquired and already named by mum while I was away for the weekend (if I'd been involved we'd have come home with her brother too). And much as I love her, she's never really been "my kitten", whereas Tills who moved in with me is definitely my cat - ie I am her personal slave!

I think you meant Tills took over your home and adopted you as her owner/slave - lol

I hear your rant and raise you another - altho we didn't keep it but sneakily took it to our retired neighbors claiming "We'll pick it up after work and get it to the shelter for you but we have to go to work now..." knowing that by the time we got home from work, the tiny scruffy thing - we suspected there was a dog in amongst the cacti and scraggly fur - would be clean, named and adopted. We were right. "Missy", a darling little long hair scruff button, has been happy and healthy in her new home ( ... )

Thanks Everyone. He's entirely adorable, fiesty, and IN CHARGE.

Copper just gives us this look like, 'Really, another one?' But they were playing chase yesterday.

Deeks has been calling him when he gets losted and cries pitifully. Apparently he got dirty because suddenly Deeks pounced on him with his big paws and held him down. The kitteh was squirming and crying but wasn't getting away until Deeks was ready - he growled and kitteh hung his head and shut up. It is the funniest thing watching the old tom play mommy.

Pics are here.
