2009 End of Year Fic Meme

Rather than this be a post with fic, it's a post about fic! Mwaha. Anyway, I shamelessly stole this meme from floweranza and throttleholdme (who are both ♥) as a sort of year-in-review thing. And since it's a fic meme, why not post it in my fic comm, right? I think that in the end this just might be a testament to the fact that I actually haven't

That aside... how many times have I told you that I love Encaustic more than anything? I have told so many people it's my favorite Arashi fic ever. It's truly embarrassing. It's not even necessarily about going back and rereading it a lot (because I think it's a story you need to read once and then wait a good few months to come back to and read again), but because of the way it made me feel the first time through. It felt real. It felt like I was going through things with them. My heart was pounding and I was smiling and I cried, like... whut. Love that story with my whole soul, you!

And then, I probably didn't tell you this before, but Time to Run was the first fic that ever made me think Sho/Jun could work. It was so different from anything else I'd read in fandom and I just sat back and went, "Oh. Oooooooh. Huh."

We have a mutual love for A Little Prince, so I don't need to tell you how much I love when you put it into fics. And I remember thinking at the end of

HIGH FIVES ALL OVER THE PLACE, YOU ARE MY HERO! (Honestly, though, it wasn't that big of a deal but I kind of did want some more Arashi-focused authors in the challenge...)

Every time you tell me you love Encaustic it just inflates my heart to exponential sizes. When I read your initial comment about how it was the first Arashi fic that ever made you cry I just kind of sat there going oh no oh no! But I suppose in the end it was a good thing? :) To tell you the truth, I can't even re-read it myself because I think I still need to recover from writing it. To know that you appreciate it this much, though, is really, really lovely to hear. ♥

Honestly just a little prince and his rose was part of another fic that featured all of Arashi connecting to the book in some way, but I liked the Aiba/Jun in it too much so I made it stand on its own. I might go back and toy with the old parts one day

This meme is spurring a large amount of rereading, which I am sure I will enjoy. ♥ (Oh, I loved all of them but Encaustic owns my soul.)

I know what you mean, I've read through about four different versions of this meme and have fic tabs open all over the place. And it's New Years so I can't really read them; they're just sitting there TEASING ME WHUT. ;o;
