My husband's current favorite movie soundtrack is the from Guardians of the Galaxy. Our daughter got it for him for Christmas last year and he loves it. He's a big fan of that era of music. His all-time favorite, though, is probably Jesus Christ Superstar (not sure that counts, since it was a stage musical first).
Mine, if I had to pick, would probably be from O Brother, Where Art Thou? I was raised on that style of music and I have a soft spot for it. Oh, and Tommy (although again, not sure it counts since it was an album BEFORE it was a movie).
My daughter is a huge fan of the music from the Lord of the Rings movies. She has the soundtracks on CD and listens to them frequently.
