The entire team kept frowning in confusion at the broad, happy grin on Ziva's face. She refused to say what was going on, until one morning she came to work wearing a very obvious wedding ring. Tony and McGee flipped and bombarded her with questions, but she only smiled enigmatically. A few minutes later, Gibbs came storming down the stairs from the director's office, glowering at a piece of paper.
"You married DiNozzo?" he thundered, causing several agents to peek over the partitions.
Tony swiveled around, panic in his eyes. "No!" he exclaimed. "Why would you even think that?!"
Ziva continued to grin happily and played with her wedding ring.
"Your father," Gibbs elaborated, waving the piece of paper around. "HR informed Leon, Leon just informed me." He glowered at Ziva, who just smiled serenely.
"You know that I need to be an American citizen to become a federal agent. Marrying an American man is one way to do it. Tony was only too happy to help me."
