Nah, didn't even occur to me. One thing I learned from The Bruce is that celebrities are constantly being barraged by fans who say they just want to share what they've created but are actually looking for the celebrity to talk it up and spread the word. Being a "loyal fan" is used as a bargaining chip. I didn't want to spoil the moment, so I just had him sign my stuff as I gushed about how much I loved his work.

I would have tried for an interview for BC. He couldn't do it because the line was so long, he stayed later than he should have and was late getting on the road to his next gig. Timing is everything.
