Crossdressing costumes

As no one has offered any opinions on what I should be for Halloween, I thought I would ask a different question. See, I was having this conversation yesterday, and I wondered why more people in fandom do not dress up as their favorite fannish characters for Halloween. lysimache told me that it was because fandom is girls and they don't dress as boys, even ( Read more... )

I've played a couple guys in plays, but more because we needed the character(s) and I was the only person left. Show must go on, so I ended up "male". I've never cross-dressed for Halloween. I've never cosplayed for the sake of cosplay, but I can maybe see myself playing a male character if I ever do. (For the record, I identify as a straight woman.)

Okay, cool. :)

I probably should have asked about gender/orientation. Stupid no-editing-allowed LJ polls. *shakes fist*

We don't really celebrate down here, or at least we didn't up until the last five years or so. I love dressing up, but somehow that never translates into costumes as no one I know does Halloween parties.

I love putting on make up, elaborate costumes, I don't see that translating very well into crossdressing. There was this one time I thought about going to a party as God, as in Oz in Buffy wearing that "Hi, my name is ___God__" name tag, but that party didn't happen and there's the huge question of whether God is male or female, both or neither.

I should probably have had "my country does not celebrate this holiday, you ignorant American" option. Whoops.

I think whether that's crossdressing depends on your theology. Or something.

i was robin hood for halloween in elementary school, and i wore a grey pinstripe suit + fedora to one of the cowell dances (drag style, not woman in a suit style).

i think drag is HOT. :)
