It's very odd to decide at midnight that I want ice cream and then be able to go out and get ice cream. I [heart] my girlfriend. We also ended up with donuts and bagels and Hostess Sno-balls, which are the most disgusting thing ever, what with the cupcake and marshmallow and shredded coconut. You don't like snowballs? Aww. I don't know if we have them with the cake variety, but our snowballs are chocolate-covered marshmallows with coconut on the chocolate. Then there's lamingtons, which are chocolate-covered sponge cake with coconut on the outside. (And then there's rum lamingtons...)

None of which I've eaten in a long while, but they used to be quite nummy. Especially the lamington. I'm a sucker for cake in any form. Must not go bake a cake...

Those sound a lot better than what we've got; Hostess is not a dessert company known for its refined tastes. They make unhealthy packaged desserts with much sugar. So their snowballs are cream-filled chocolate cupcake covered in marshmallow and then in shredded coconut. I've never heard of lamingtons.

Mmm, cake.

I've heard from various people that desserts and sweets in the US are a lot sweeter than that over here; I do believe this because of my trying out some cake recipes from the States and them coming out sickly sweet. Ugh. Nothing for it but chucking the sodding thing away.

I suppose, though, that sweet things aren't all too healthy to begin with. There's a reason why they're called desserts!
