I'd almost forgotten that ludicrous moulded chest-thing. It does look like it would be impossible to move about in if it were made of metal!

Also it reminds me of Sergeant Colon in the Discworld books who had a chestplate with a chest embossed on it like that, into which his actual chest would be squidged like a jelly into a mould. :-D

I assume people moved in the actual ones. Somehow. Also I realized that I neglected to call it a "muscle cuirass," which... ha. "Cuirass" is one of those words I try not to say aloud.

I have not read much Discworld but that sounds hilarious.

May I just say that I love the fact that you take the time and trouble to research this stuff and care about getting it right. It's not the only reason, but it's certainly one of the reasons your fics are excellent.
