Aw, I'm glad you liked it! :)

Oh, and I'm your actual assigned author.

I liked it a lot! Thank you again! :)

Wow, that means the 10k TLP story was a treat? That's a lot of treat. Wait, I just looked at halotolerant's AO3 page and apparently halotolerant's also the author of the giant Frontier Wolf AU and a bunch of other YT fic. That is a lot of fic for Yuletide. I will now sit here in silent awe.

I am impressed at the people who were able to churn out so much good fic for Yuletide. I really do need to become conversant with more canons to the extent that I feel confident writing stories in them. I would like to attempt treats as well as the main assignment next year.

It has always seemed to me that the skillset you need for Yuletide treats/madness is not really one that you get a lot of use out of the rest of the fannish year -- usually you get more of a chance to polish your actual stories, as opposed to "I've read that book! I remember liking that book! I've got two hours and a wiki article and I'm going to skim the scenes I'd like to set a fic around and then go for it!" I have done things like forgotten characters were actually married (whoops), and last year I was still editing Carmarthen's Catullus treat when the archive opened.

Basically I think the confidence you have the rest of the year and the amount of confidence that you have time to have for Yuletide Madness are two different amounts, if that helps.
