Fleet Street certainly was unnerving, a little. So much grime and smoke, and tired faces on the street. Almost eating human pies didn't help.

It was, wasn't it? The Industrial Revolution was a tiresome time, but innovative for the mortals of the day. Worry not, love. I wouldn't subject you to such barbarism.

Quite. It was... interesting, though; and things change so quickly in the span of one or two centuries. Indeed, my thanks that you were there, since I'm not familiar with their story; if you'd been a second later, and I'd accepted the pie, it wouldn't have been a pretty sight to see me coughing up the bite of pastry crust and human flesh.

It was even more fascinating to observe firsthand; nowadays, technological advances are not so much extraordinary as they are expected. This society is a spoiled one. If you are at all interested, we could watch the film together. It is actually a musical, and -- you know how I am with those, hm? -- is actually quite good. Sondheim has always been a favorite of mine.
Looks like I have quite a bit of shopping to do, then. ♥
