God damn I miss records. I agree with everything Mr Clark says, I just miss the way records sound, look, and feel.

Let me chime in from a different perspective. I've spun records and CDs for a fair amount of time. Going on 7 years or so now. I for one don't miss records; They're heavy, unwieldy, have worse sound quality (in MY opinion) and terrible storage density to name a few things.

I've recently gone completely digital and use Ableton Live, an external audio interface and a MIDI controller. I get better quality (320Kbps mp3), bigger selection (No crates, no CD folders), and smoother/more interesting mixes.

No nostalgia here from a medium perspective. I have some killer tunes on vinyl still that I'm converting to mp3 but that has nothing to do with medium.

The CD vs Vinyl vs Digital debate can only go on for so long. I'm tired of it personally. The people that feel that vinyl "sounds better" will continue to feel that way. No use in arguing.

Just my take on it.

God he is so right. It's OK to be a purist and be nostalgic, but to shun people who don't use vinyl and be elitist, that just irritates me. I can count like 20 DJs I knew in Dallas that would snicker when someone else spun CDs (when it was unusual to do so)... Now they're playing CDs... geeze. Fucking hipocrites!!!
