If you are reading this message and basically ONLY this message... ...and expected to see my fiction and/or wished to see my fiction you have arrived to find a situation that has today (April 16, 2005) gone completely out of my control. I never wished to close my fiction to anyone. The whole reason I write is, truthfully, because I love to share ( Read more... )

That's utterly insane. I had no idea that there were servers out there like bloglines that did that. I'm pretty pissed off about this. Just, wow.

But you see, sweetie, in order for us to keep reading your stories you need to friend us back...
I'm utterly annoyed by this too, btw.
*hugs*

I'm so sorry that you have to go FO. But I can understand it.
I've read this several times on my FL this morning.
*hugs*

I hate this so desperately!

It feels like I had to put up walls against the very people I came to LJ to meet!

Growl!

yeah....somehow it's against the concept of LJ....and I don't understand why LJ itself doesn't react...
Did you already find some of your stories over there ? Because I've read that you can ask them to take it down.

Actually according to Blogline itself you CAN'T ask them to take them down, they are "public" property unless you can produce a "legal copyright" proving otherwise. Which, of course, none of us have, we haven't copywritten this stuff.

But, no, thankfully, my material hadn't made it there. Although I'm told that once you've done a "search" on your name that you automatically activate their search engine and it goes out and "looks" for you and within 24 hrs you will be found. So if you search for yourself and then DON'T lock down you will be there by the next time you look.

*sigh*

I doubt this is the only Friends Lock I'm going to see this morning but it is totaly understandable.

I'm way behind as (usual) but I'd love to be able to catch up & try to keep up with Eagle's Nest and any future stories.

*bats eyelashes hopefully* Any chance of being friended back?

Thank you ;D

And about Bloglines - if I'm reading things right it looks like they are willing to block the feed from your journal if you ask. More info here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/caras_galadhon/169147.html

That was both reassuring... and scary...

The fact that bloglines MIGHT be willing to block on the big comms (said they would but so far haven't on those they promised to do so) and the fact that there are other archives out there doing this...

SIGH.

But more information is always useful. It was naive to believe that we could keep "writing on the sidewalk" and assume no one would walk by and read it. Public boards are just that "public" and eventually I guess we had to realize that someone would start reading them wholesale. Was just a nasty wake-up on top of the C&D snits of 2 weeks ago.
