So I thought of this as I was bored yesterday night/today morning, having finished reading Dream Country, which is ok but has one really good story (Calliope). Which is creepy and wrong in all the right ways. So, flist, you should do this too, and ask me to upload if you want the songs:

Top Five fucking creepy Songs, in no particular order:

music, comics, reviews, meme

Yeah, like I told you, Calliope was the only awesome one in there.

Cautionary Song! Very nice.

Echo and the Bunnymen have some very creepy awesome songs too, "My Kingdom" is one that stands out:

I chop and I change and the mystery thickens
There's blood on my hands and you want me to listen
To brawn and to brain when the truth's in the middle
Born of the grain like all good riddles
B-b-burn the skin off and climb the roof top
Thy will be done
B-b-bite the nose off and make it the most of
Your king- kingdom kingdom kingdom

And who could forget the classic Bauhaus' Bela Lugosi's Dead, which practically gave birth to creepy goth music? It's not so much fucking creepy as beautiful-goth-creepy though.

DUDE! Also by the Decemberists, Odalisque! Fucking creepy and dark as hell!

Fifteen stitches will mend those britches right
and then rip them down again
sapling switches will rend those rags alright
what a sweet sound it makes

I love that song. Makes me shiver each time.

Okay, I'll stop hogging your comment-space now. Eh. I should make my own list, but I'm no longer as inspired as I was.

totally agree with "Which makes me think that no self respecting serial killer would be inspired by Manson. Or Rammstein. They haven't got that sophisticated cruelty you need to be a truly successful serial killer."

Hahah.
In retrospect, I'm rather disturbed that I can, in all seriousness, casually use the phrase "truly successful serial killer."
