I have often said that I'd love to live during that time period if women had more chances than to just absorb every talent. I could see myself being very domestic with knitting, sewing, painting, playing piano, etc; however, I know that if other professions like law were suitable for women, I could definitely accept that kind of world.
All the formalities and manners definitely made things less complicated as far as relationships go.

I just believe with a higher level of manners and maybe a less revealing wardrobe the world would be better. Women would be mysterious and alluring again. Not all... bikini's and wet t-shirt contests. >.< I also agree that the women's equal rights movement was very beneficial. I'm glad i can be a doctor or a police officer if i choose to do so.
I wouldn't say that formalities would make relationships less complicated, as things would just be hidden instead of out in the open.
Can we just slow the world down and glam it up again? Maybe we'd all be happier and there would be less people willing to end their lives.
