The god delusion? My housemate spent all day listening to the audio book over loudspeakers while his eyes were out of action. Then he stumbled up to me and spoke all its glory. Apparently I need to listen to it.

I suppose the audio book would be a good idea... he structures his sentences more boringly than Tolkien (I loved LoTR, I just couldn't read it with the smoothnss of Harry Potter - I am still a child) and I had to read each sentence twice originally to get a hang of his language. His wife read it out to him while he was still writing it, he says she has the language command of "a professional actor, with voice and ear sensitivity tuned to the music of language".

It's a good thinking book. I also want to get The Selfish Gene now. Unfortunately, he makes himself out to be a bit of a twit, but it's still an advantageous bit of knowledge.

The 747 argument never made sense to me...I did like the god delusion, but there's something about dawkins that I don't like.

Afterlife, is your atoms becoming the atoms of something else...as plants grow from the nutrition in your corpse...or something eats it. Otherwise it's too early to think....I need sleep

I'd like for plants to grow from my remains if only to contribute to the future and not encase my chemicals in a coffin. But I don't think it's what I'd call an afterlife seeing as the atoms and molecules and proteins don't actually hold your consciouness. I may be wrong, but I think you require more than one neuron interacting to have any sort of consciousness. In fact, you need rather a lot of them.

Have you read the northern lights trilogy? Children / young adult fiction. The afterlife is a world and in one of the books, the protagonist opens up a doorway from there into another world and the dead people leave so that their constituent atoms disperse to integrate back into a living world.
