I think you might want to actually read Wilson before making commentary. The mind/body he speaks of has nothing to do with the observer-created-universe theory of quantum mechanics. He merely makes an analogy between the logic of quantum mechanics and the understanding of neuroscience today.
In neuroscience, the reality in our 'minds' does not necessarily represent the reality 'outside' us, because our reality-tunnels (created by imprinting, conditioning, and learning) color our views, and can even affect our entire mind-body (psychosomatic) state of being.
See my last post on this discussion on Pandalous under Christina Haig for other funny things about psychology that have analogies in quantum theory
And P.S. - I think we can all agree that the scientific context, 'observation' is firmly defined as when the instrument interferes with the wave packet, causing it to collapse. That much was obvious to me when I took first semester undergraduate Quantum. Why someone as smart as Pauli and Heisenberg could have ever interpreted quantum theory to mean that only the 'human' act of observation created what we see has always completely befuddled me.
I will be deleting this livejournal account shortly. I would still like to hear your occasional thoughts.
I have decided i want to only keep track of one online thing a day, and facebook seems for me to do the job reasonably.
My point is do you have a facebook account, i see you do have something on Pandalous, but i really only have time to follow 1 thing a day. As mentioned above I would love to stay in touch.
By the way your comment to the above poster was priceless, "you might actually want to read" what you are talking about.
