OMG NANCY DREW. I inhaled these books as a kid. (plastered all over my diary from when I was eight are a thousand variations on "I LOVE NANCY DREW". >.>)
LOL me too! I do believe it's the earliest I've ever started writing fan-fiction (before I knew it was fanfiction, and I'd just write my own stupid little Nancy Drew stories in my journal and draw pictures). Yeah. :D
I'm glad someone recognized them. I was beginning to feel old. :D I haven't read the (classic) books in a very long time. I don't know if I could enjoy them now. :D
I had the hairs already (thanks to everyone who's been maxis-matching everything lately!), and the rest of the CC so this was pretty easy. And I knew I wanted Tara as Nancy and Violet as George but I couldn't think of a blond teenager that I haven't played with before for Bess. ;) I'm glad you like it!
WOOWWWWWW so great!!! I love the outfits you chose and the hair styles. I used to love Nancy Drew!!! I still remember one of the books where she went to a ski resort and one of the character's names was Christi haha.
Question; when you are either shooting for your story or for something like this, do you sketch out what you want to happen in the pics like a story board? It's just that your pictures are so visually stimulating, and yet never overwhelming. They're chock full of delicious detail, and still your focus is drawn directly to where it should be. <3 Can I be like you when I grow up?? xD
Thank you! I really did love the books when I was a kid. I haven't read them in ages, but I don't know if they'd survive the test of time for me. Things that were awesome when you were 10 might be cringe-worthy now. LOL.
When I'm shooting, I usually can visualize what I want in my head. I don't bother sketching anything down or taking notes, because it's just sims I don't really have anything to lose by not preparing ahead of time. ;) I just go in and shoot. The downside to that is that I end up taking way too many screenshots at different angles and I just pick the best one. I do try to balance clutter and solid shapes in composition so that there isn't too much going on. :D
