Garrett McMurphy and the joys of FTM sims
OK so...I have a sim named Garrett. He started out life as a girl, but I don't remember what name he started out with...I think it was Molly or something. Anyway, I wanted to do a post about him and the ammount of work I put into him being trans.
This is him as a child. His dad, a pretty liberal and understanding guy, let him live as a boy for most of his childhood, but refused to let him start hormones until he was 16. So Garrett lived as a boy and bound his chest during his teen years (during which I forgot to take pictures). And now I've sent Garrett and his brother Adam to college, and I've given Garrett the full blown male treatment:
I'm pretty proud of this actually. He's got an M-to-F hair conversion, a stubble conversion I found on MTS2, and if you look close you'll notice he's got a different skintone than in his child picture: This is because he's wearing a pooklet blend on Gothplague's trans bodymesh.
He looks...
...awesome.
I was so into changing his gender that I edited it in SimPE. I changed his markers from female to male, which I was somewhat nervous about, but I'd heard that Mrs. Crumplebottom is marked as a male in the game (Why, maxis?) and decided it couldn't screw things up too badly.
To my utter raging delight, it totally worked. As a young adult, Garrett got the MALE slouchy walk.
He pees standing up, in the MEN's bathroom!
So basically every time I play his dorm, I get to feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in something turning out so well. Am I the only one who takes such delight in making sims realistic? I hope not...
I love Garrett a lot, not only because he's such a great example of me doing a lot of things to make him realistic, but because he's a cool character. He's a great fan of mechanics (majoring in Engineering), he's bookish and a little bit shy, he has a lot of unrequited crushes (including one on a sociopathic girl named August) and he and his brother have an awesome relationship. I can't wait until he finds a girl to settle down with, because he's going to have neat babies and I want to see him as a dad. Also, of course, from a technical standpoint, I'm interested to see if I'll get the option to "marry" or "join union".
Heh heh. Just a weird post about me enjoying things. I wish there were better MTF meshes, because I'd love to have a transwoman or five as well...
