I'm excited for this entry! This happened forever ago in real time and I'm glad I've finally caught up to where I can start talking about it.
Life was going on as normal in the Thigpen household, or as normal as it ever was. Tracy and Bob were expecting their first child and still in the honeymoon phase of their marriage.
Bob worked long hours, and Tracy was forced to stay home due to her pregnancy. She liked Shena, Bob's sister who came over frequently, but Tracy and Lise, her mother in law, had never managed to develop a good relationship.
Unfortunately, they were the only ones around when the baby came. Tracy thought Lise could have been more help, what with being a doctor and all.
Gala Thigpen was born at last, with black hair and blue eyes like her father's.
Bob doted on the new baby, and talked excitedly of having more. Tracy privately thought she wouldn't be ready for more for a good while, but it was nice to see him so happy. Things remained peaceful for some time.
Peaceful, that is, until the night Glen was abducted by aliens. Of course, no one knew that's what was happening at the time. He'd been outside, using the telescopes with Bob as they both tried to get ahead in their careers.
A bright beam of light came from above, centered on Glen. Everyone in the house rushed outside to see what was happening.
The light seemed to pull at Glen somehow. No one could believe their eyes as he fought against being sucked into the sky.
He lost the battle quickly, and as everyone turned their horrified gazes to follow his flight, they saw what they all agreed later was a spaceship. Glen was scooped up and the ship vanished into the night.
Needless to say, they were all inconsolable. What had happened to Glen? Would they ever see him again? Who could they go to for help?
Bob was in shock. Aliens weren't real. They were an invention of the science fiction industry. And yet he'd seen their ship with his own eyes.
Before they could form any kind of plan, Glen was dumped unceremoniously on the pavement in front of the house.
He was furious - and confused. He realized he'd been abducted, but couldn't remember exactly what had happened and was surprised to learn he'd only been gone a few hours. He begged the family not to mention it again, and they uneasily agreed.
Little Gala's birthday was celebrated the next day.
Everyone was acting as though everything was normal, even Glen. Lise's brother Emanuel's family had come over for the occasion, and no one wanted to talk about the abduction in front of little Denae.
Gala turned out to be a beautiful toddler, if a bit whiny.
Glen adored her and hinted about wanting more grandchildren frequently.
As it turned out, Tracy and Bob were expecting another baby - unexpectedly. The night of Glen's abduction, they'd wanted comfort and were careless. Bob was over the moon, but Tracy wasn't sure she was quite ready yet.
Glen and Lise's relationship seemed to become stronger after the abduction - they were always all over each other, night and day.
Maybe, Tracy wondered, Lise appreciated the weight Glen had been putting on. He certainly seemed to have quite a gut lately.
Bonus pics:
I hadn't realized the pets were quite that realistic.
Even animals hate Glen.
Notes:
All natural alien abduction! I have a confession, though. I was really gunning for an abduction, and so I had Glen and Bob out there most nights on the telescopes. When Glen was abducted, I was overjoyed. But when he returned, he actually wasn't pregnant. He'd been taken four days away from elder, which I thought was enough time, but apparently it wasn't. So I kinda gave him a shot of elixir and boolpropped an alien pregnancy for him. I figured I did the work to get him abducted fair and square, so I was going to get an alien baby no matter what!
Tracy and Bob really did take matters into their own hands the night of Glen's abduction. The first thing they did after he was taken was go Try for Baby on the couch. I heard the jingle and was like, "Great". That makes Lise, Glen, Bob, Tracy, Gala, Sim Fetus, and Alien Fetus all about to share space. Exciting times in the Thigpen household.
