Prosperity Challenge - 9.6 (Days/Years 25-27 - Lind and Band House)

Sep 23, 2008 10:02

Last update for this round! There is no college to blog this round, although I did actually play it with a placeholder in the Greek House. He's never coming to Winterfell though, so I don't see much point in including pictures. I just thought it would be weird if like 8 years went by and the same placeholder was still there.

Lind

Melanie Lind - the only sim living on her own in Winterfell. Truly, she is a modern woman.

She has had not one...

...but two successful careers.

She enjoys relaxing with friends over an intellectual game of chess.

She likes to take advantage of the simple pleasures in life.

But most of all...

...she is never afraid to take care of her own needs.

And she has plenty of them...needs, that is.

(Now there's "modern" for you!)

Band House

"Eli, are you sure we need to practice the kiss quite so many times? I'm going to be late for work."

"Aw, come on Shena. We have to be perfect for the wedding tomorrow, don't we?"

Shena pretended to grumble, but the carpool was left waiting for quite some time.

"Don't forget, after work we need to go shopping."

Later that day...

"Psst."

"What?"

"I want to see what you're trying on!"

"Well...come in, then." Shena stifled a giggle.

"So, ah, what did you think?"

"That was....awesome!"

"Haha, yes, it was, but no silly, I mean what do you think of my outfit?"

Eli tried to choose his words carefully.

"I always pictured marrying you in a dress."

"Well, I think I saw some lovely pastel numbers downstairs in your size, Eli."

"Er, I mean...it's not that I don't like it..."

She laughed and let him off the hook.

"I'm just kidding. I do think I'll get this and maybe wear it to Xi Centauri's first real show, though."

"Being married to you is going to be like this all the time, isn't it?"

"Yup."

"Hey, Anabel. I just wanted to check and see if you were coming, I never got your RSVP. Yeah, you can bring a guest. Awesome, I'll see you tomorrow."

Nevada was surprised. "Anabel's coming? I didn't even know you two kept in touch."

"Well, we don't really, but we figured you'd like to see her. We invited Belva, too, but she can't make it. And thanks, again, for agreeing to be the DJ."

"Hey, no problem. It'll be fun. You didn't, uh, invite Rochell, too, did you?"

"Oh, um, no. I don't think she would want to come. You know. After what happened."

"You mean after you let her believe you were going to ask her to marry you and then turned around and proposed to Shena instead?"

"Geez Nevada...yeah. After that."

The next day...

"So, my beautiful bride-to-be, how do you feel about spaghetti for dinner?"

"I don't think it matters what you make, there's no way I'm eating anything before the ceremony. The butterflies in my stomach feel more like mountain lions."

"Aw, big bad Shena is nervous. Don't puke on me under the arch."

"You're not nervous at all?"

"Nope!" Eli lied.

Before they knew it, the guests were starting to arrive. To everyone's shock, Rochell had come as Anabel's date, and wearing white, no less. Before that had really started to sink in, something happened to make everyone forget about it.

Lise started screaming at Glen.

"You asshole! At our daughter's wedding, you brazenly come on to this...girl...right in front of me?? What, did you think I couldn't hear you? Did the aliens make you insane as well as fat?"

She slapped him square across the face. Fortunately, Shena wasn't around to witness the bizarre display. Glen quietly left, leaving Lise to compose herself before the ceremony.

"Do you take me to be your husband?"

"I do!"

"Do you take me to be your wife and agree to never quit the band?"

"Um, I do!"

The kiss was as perfect as they'd practiced it to be.

Nevada did her best to dispel the lingering awkwardness of Rochell's presence and the big blowup.

But that was a pretty tall order, what with Rochell silently glaring at everyone and Lise behaving as though she were drunk.

At least she could count on Alvin to ignore social tension and cut loose on the dance floor.

The bride and groom were too wrapped up in each other to take much notice of the comings and going of their guests, and before they knew it, everyone had gone home.

So, they held their own after party and everyone lived happily every after (until next round!).

Bonus pics:

My little Shena is knocked up!

They got a puppy named Sam.
