Is it just me, or was Bart such a Jerk in this episode it made you hate him and actually side with Lisa? The writers did a really good job.

I agree. Bart was a total and complete dick. It's a side of him that we never see in any other episode. Save, perhaps, for the episode with Milhouse and Samantha Stanky, "Bart's Friend Falls In Love." [8F22, Season 3]
