It’s not just that she loves Clark: it’s so much more than that. He’s her best friend, he’s entrusted her with his secret, she’s his sidekick. It’s a complicated web that tries her to Clark, and saying it’s just that she’s in love with him fails to understand this intricacy. Everyone always focuses on her love for Clark.

I've rarely found a better explanation of the CHlark ship. Thanks.
