I have to remember this fic I'm working on is past tense. I need to get in the habit of writing in that form, but I keep slipping to present tense.

good thing this fic will be beta read before I post it.

In an hour, broken up into two 30 minutes blocks, I wrote 650 words (or there abouts).

I am a past tense writer. Always have been.

Except for some unknown reason all my 5-0 wants to be in present tense. And who am i to argue with the boys?

for the last 9 months, all i've been writing is 5-0 stuff, but I notice I switch tenses all the time within one fic and it gets jarring when I go back and read it

Heh, I'm finding that I use present tense far more often with H5-0 fic than I have with other fic, too. Maybe because so much H5-0 fic *is* present tense -- unlike the other fandom I've written in -- and it's sort of seeped in by osmosis? Or maybe it totally is the boys; too much kinetic energy to contain in the past tense... :-)

Tenses always seem to have tricks up their sleeve to trip a person up with. I think they get pleasure out of that... :-)
