Sure! It might be a little different in your Word version but I have 2003.

Down at the bottom of the Word window, there may be things like
REC
TRK
EXT
OVR

Those should all be grayed out. Next to it may say something like English (UK). Double-click on that sucka and pick English (US). Maybe also uncheck the "automatically detect language" thing--hope that helps!

eta: I have word 2007, so that wasn't a fix I could use. I ended up doing a search and found the help I needed and it worked.

Word 07 is so different from 03! It doesn't surprise me that that didn't work haha. Glad you found something that did, though.

It took me a good 6 months to figure out Word 07 and over 2 years later I'm STILL figuring things out!

It is saying the grammar is wrong? That's is weird! I have my word set to US english (too lazy to change it) and it picks up on my realising and recognising etc. I assume I write like a British person but it never says my grammar is wrong! Even when it (often) is...

yeah, I don't know what was going on, but it's back to US spelling of stuff and it's making my work a whole lot easier.
