Well I moved my family to another town. I saved them to the library (And their kids and the like) and then I switched to a new town and moved them into new houses. Then I used to Master Controller to set their family ties again.

Ok just checked. It's under Advanced, then click Sim, then you have options to add child, add parents and the like. I'm going to link to the nraas site. http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController+Interactions

Wow they just marked the link as spam. Well click on Advanced, then Sim and then you have the option to add parent, add child, add sibling. If you look on the Nraas website under interactions you should see what I mean.

I believe with sims 3, you have to be careful about movine sims to different towns as it can cause currupt files and glitches in the file. Just a warning in case something like that happens, it'd be wise to back up the family just in case.

As for moving objects without the grid restriction, don't quote me on this because it's been a while since I've played sims 3. But I think you hold down the alt key on the keyboard while placing objects and you can place them anywhere whether on the grid or not.

hi, thanks for the warnng. one of the reasons i use the saver mod is it automatically saves into 4 files, taking it in turns, so if something goes wrong i have 3 older files i can go back to. i have a 5 gen gamily start flitching really bad, this got them back more or less working, although i lost a couple of hours of gameplay for it

i'll give alt a try, thanks, can't hurt anyway!

Ah okay! I always did that myself when playing, started a new save from time to time, and always saved a couple times pretty close together so the backups weren't toooo far behind. Never a bad idea to be safe with that game.

And no problem! Hopefully that's the key, but like you said, doesn't hurt to try it at all :)

Not too sure how to help with most of your questions, but on the Cheats/Mods front, I'd suggest visiting Mod The Sims (http://www.modthesims.info/). Go to "Downloads" and click on "Sims 3" to show you just the downloads for Sims 3. You can click on the different filter buttons (such as "Game Mods" and "Programs and Utilities") to further filter by type of Custom Content. There are several mods that deal with automating the cheat code process. But be sure you make a backup of your game before you install anything, and make sure that your game is updated to the latest patch. Also, I would highly recommend putting all your Custom Content into separate folders so they're easier to search through. And I definitely recommend downloading the "Dashboard Tool" program from MTS as well. After you install your new mods, run the Dashboard Tool. It will show you if there are any problems, like if any mods are conflicting with other mods, if they aren't compatible with your game, or if the ( ... )
