Don't use the Launcher?

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

In there you will see a file called TS3W.exe. Right click on it and send it to the desktop. This is the file you will use to launch the game forever and ever (even with new EPs and SPs installed) or until EA changes the way we launch the game.

Thanks. I found out I could do that from somewhere when I went looking to see what to do about the launcher.

It seems to be happening to other people so it may not have even been the hairs, or at least not completely them.

I think I can still install things I just can't play the game from it so I'm not sure what to do about it other than not worry.

After I freaked I saw other people, as of last week or so, having issues. I was really ready to blame the hair, but yeah I'm not so sure anymore lol.

I did get a 'save 16' error, but I get that with new patches, sometimes new downloads, etc...so I saved again and it was fine.

I'll keep checking on it but really not sure what to do unless some fix comes down the trail.

Hopefully we can continue to bypass, because yeah I would cry.

According too the The Sims 3 website forums, the launcher issue is a problem with Origin. If you uninstall Origin the launcher will start working again, I've not tried it out yet myself, but my best friend has and she got into the game via the launcher just fine after uninstalling Origin.

Oh wow I so didn't know that.

I'll uninstall and see what happens either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks. I wasn't even going to use it anyway, I mean I was curious about pets, but can't buy it, and maybe won't anyway, for a while and that's the only reason I downloaded it.

I'd like to add that I did uninstall, then reinstall Origin and I still cannot use the launcher. Maybe I needed to leave it uninstalled. Didn't realize that. I also cut the sim 3 folder to desktop to get clean user files. Didn't work. I also deleted the caches. I also deleted the files in the dcc cache. Didn't work. I tried everything that was discussed as a possible workaround and none worked for me. I decided to try using the custom launcher on MTS and it works fine. A LOT of people are having launcher problems all of a sudden. Including me. It's not the hair.

I've just left mine uninstalled for now.

Yeah, I realized about the hair a bit after I posted.

I've been pretty careful with mods because I'm a little afraid of doing too much, which is why I thought it was the hair I guess.
