You do not need a no-cd with awesomemod, although I had some issues with Asomemod no-cd not working if I didn't also setup the .dlls that were used for the original custom content framework.
Personally, I'd reinstall NL. Somethings is wrong somewhere, try downloading a patch for it and seeing if it goes alright. I recommend using this: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=409829 Because the launcher actually doesn't patch right and some 3rd party programs and mods can have trouble if all of your packs aren't updated.
Also, no you do not need to crack them all, just the one you are running from. Also, you have to get a new crack-ed .exe everytime you patch your game, you also have to switch back to the original .exe before you crack every time.
Well, that's the thing, I patched it up before all that. I should elaborate, though.
I installed the games, but I was dumb and impatient and didn't do any test runs, and on top of that I forgot to move all the old CC. (I'm staring afresh with new game and content, on my new computer, but it's been a long time since I've played TS3 and that content was old).
I used the Patch Downloader, installed the games sequentially and patched, skipping the test runs. So, game, patch, game, patch. Then I cracked Late Night. Everything went without a hitch, so I was really surprised when that error came up, then I remembered that old content. After I removed it, I started it up again, but same error. I cleaned up my cache and the version file, and still the error. Since I was dumb (like I said) I had forgotten to backup the original .exes .dlls, so I just decided to reinstall. Nothing lost.
Do I still need that old framework with the new patch and awesomemod? And is the .exe on the DVD the same that's in the \bin?
The .exe that's on the dvd is not the the same as the one in the bin if you are all patched up. The one on the DVD is an unpatched one, and the one in bin, if everything is patched as you say, is the patched one or patched crack
( ... )
I don't use the no-cd crack anymore because I got too many errors like the one you have. It's all working fine since I started using the cd mini-image. I mount it with the Daemon Tools Lite and it works like the cd is in the driver. :)
I've never had a problem with the no-cd part of Awesome-mod, ever. But I don't use the .dlls, I just uninstalled all cc then reinstalled them. Then I uninstalled those, and exported the sim3packs into packages and batch bundled those.
Sometimes they install incompletely. My Ambitions installed crapily the first time (none of the new stuff showed properly), and after hunting mts I think it was, I just uninstalled it all and reinstalled it.
Yeahh, I think the .dlls is just me. I swear I tried it every which a way before I just went ahead and put the dlls back. Every time I tried without the dlls the game would start up, load, then I would get the "hey, this isn't your copy" message. I haven't seen anyone else complain of this.
Glad to see you got it all figured out! Also, you can still use the launcher, just not to start the game itself with, you can still use it to install sims3packs if you want or what have you and just close it after the object installs. Although I hear there are 3rd party versions of that now too.
