but how do you get people to be romantic interests?? i've had my sim (who is a whore gets around) chatting up leighton sekemoto (lolz yay japanese) for like four sim days, and they've gotten to best friend level (idk wtf that's about because they definitely aren't "BEST FRIENDS"), but i cannot find a choice to make them romantic interests. :(

There should be a Romance menu with options like "Compliment Personality" etc.

Just click on a bunch of those options, flirting, complimenting, ....eventually kissing, etc.

It just takes a whole lot longer than it did in the Sims2. I did relatively easily seduce Hank Goddard, but he's got "Commitment Issues" and apparently is a himbo, so that may be the reason it was easier.

You have to be very persistent with the Romantic options like Flirt or Hug Amourously until the little note under the relationship bar says that the other sim is finding your sim very alluring. Then the First Kiss or Kiss option appears. After that Leighton should become a romantic interest :D

And it's SO easy to 'ruin the moment' so you have to start all over again.

"Okay I'll break up with my wife! I can't believe that I you asked me to break up with my wife! Okay I'll break up with my wife! No I don't want to kiss you now. OOH A HUG! YES, I'll marry you!"

At first I thought my game was glitchy because my sims were being so silly about their romantic interactions. I only realised it was meant to be like that when, after having given up on a couple of hunky males that seemed to have no romantic interest at all but still agreed to woohoo ALL THE TIME, I stalked a poor random passing sim into loving my poor love-seeking female. I didn't know if I was more annoyed or amused.

There's a box in the top left any time you're interacting with another sim. It will say things like "Sim A thinks Sim B is okay". As you use the romantic interactions, it will begin to say things like " thinks Sim B is being flirty". Then it goes to very alluring and extremely irresistible after that. You have to work your way up the tree to get the more advanced interactions.

As stated above, use those Romantic interactions PERSISTENTLY. Then, when First Kiss or Confess Attraction options show up, use them. That's what will make them a romantic interest (if successful) and also open more romantic options. =]
