CC for World Adventures

May 15, 2010 14:14

I've googled and checked the tags but haven't been able to find an answer. I just got WA and High End Loft and did a fresh uninstall/reinstall. Now I want to re-add my CC (which I backed up like a good girl) but I'm not sure if I put the frame work into the WA folder or the base game folder. Can someone tell me where to put it?

I'm a gonna be honest and say, I put it in both, because overkill is my middle name, but it works now just fine and I will also own up to feeling Awesome, cos I did manage to get Awesome Mod working, which I hadn't up until now....

So yeah, both for me, covered all the bases.

I only have it installed in the base game but I don't have HEL either. Then again I need use the monkey bar to install the framework so I just went with that!:P

I was just wondering this myself, because I realized I put mine back in the base folder after installing WA. It works fine though.

Not sure about CC but if you are using Awesomemod that goes into the HELS folder, actually, and not WA. Because HELS is what you use to launch the game. I just dumped EVERYTHING into the HELS folder and all my CC is there plus Awesomemod is working which is the important part. The game woldn't start with AM in the WA folder.

I just find it easiest to keep keep both hacks and CC in the one location, so my personal suggestion would be to dump it all into the HELS folder. But from the sounds of it just plain old hair, clothes and furniture CC will work even if you keep it in the base game folder and separate to the hacks, which need to go into the HELS folder.

Actualy, you can leave the mods folder in the base, you still have to put the framework in HELS though. Some people were having problems with them in base though.

Do not put it in WA. Having the .dll, that is part of the framework, in WA when you have HELS, will cause issues like forever loading screens. If you have already placed the framework in, then just remove the .dll.

Put framework in Base, Put Framework in HELS. When the new expansion comes out, you will probably have to take it out of HELS and put it in that one.
You can get the custom to work in either the BASE, or HELS, but make certain that if you aren't using the updater to patch, to download and patch Base, WA, HELS. Most mods, and AM always will be, are updated to the latest patch.
The only thing I would worry about is blue lot syndrome, although I think most modders have fixed that.
