OKAY.

So, I haven't been posting nearly as much as I'd like to be, and distressingly little of it has been about writing. Clearly, this means that I need to do a bunch of writing-related posts. Or, y'know, just one, because I'm lazy. ...This would be so much easier if I was writing consistently. Work on that, brain ( Read more... )

Jon chose Zahir as his squire to train him to be the next Voice.

I had totally forgotten about that detail and I love you so much for coming up with that explanation.

Also, I think I have seen Alanna-as-Goddess-warrior fic, but I'd love to read your take on it.

I have actually seen one fic with the Zahir bit when I was searching for anything about him, but it had some characterization issues, and now I'm kind of worried that it'll look like I'm copying it, since it's not exactly a common plot. Most people forget that detail I think, because Kel's too busy being awesome and stealing all the attention. XD

I tried looking for Alanna-as-Goddess-warrior fic, but I think they got buried in all the Alanna-becomes-a-lady/shang/spy/wtf fics. >.> I should try running another search though, because I have no idea when I'll get around to writing mine and if I can't write it, I wanna read it. XD

On the other hand, you could probably find ways to separate it slightly from the other one. There's no rule about just-one-exploration-of-an-idea-per-fandom, or anything like that.

I didn't know there was so much of that, but I'm not surprised. And now I'm also irritated, because I know I saw an interesting Alanna-Goddess-Warrior fic and I don't have it bookmarked anywhere or anything and it's making me nuts.

Oddly, I have an easier time playing with an idea if it's been done several times rather than just once. But my Zahir story would be quite a bit different than the one I've read, so I probably will give it a go sometime.

If you find it, drop me a link! I'd love to read it.
