Garak's visits to the market were always productive in one way or another. No matter the traffic that day, either he gathered information or he gathered new customers, both of which were valuable. Today, it seemed to be more of an information-gathering sort of day, as the number of islanders wishing to barter had been small so far. That could change at any moment, however, and he would stay for his appointed time in the event that it did. He really had nothing better to do, after all.
He settled more fully onto his stool in his little stall and continued reading an actual book entitled Fashion and Style in Ancient Times: 1850-2050. He did find it amusing that the ancient times in question were the same periods in which some island residents had arrived from, but that was the occasional peril of landing on an island with so many different time periods. The past was future, the future was past, and the present? Well, the present was odd.
