Wow, I've seen that portrait many times and had no idea it was by Severn or even contemporary. Makes it all the more moving. Keats was a beautiful soul - thanks so much for sharing.

I love Keats, and that's the only portrait of him I really like; he marked the start of my obsession with fantastic writers who died tragically young! I sometimes wonder what's at the bottom of all that since although Camille reigns supreme, I seem to have added the unspeakable Rochester to the list lol.
