Tonight was my first time tutoring for my Reading class. It went really well. I'm working with a nine year old boy who enjoys reading, but hates writing...so that'll be interesting. I'll have to think of some creative ways to get him to write. It was strange working with a kid who already knows how to read and is good at it -- working at the ( Read more... ) -

Summer semester started yesterday. The break wasn't nearly long enough. I was just getting used to not doing anything. Oh well. I'm not working this summer, only taking classes. So it shouldn't be too stressful. Plus, one of the classes is over in four weeks, so July will be even easier ( Read more... ) -

Yesterday was the last day of school [at work]. I wasn't emotional beforehand. I had thought a lot about the kids leaving -- some of them are staying in the school next year for Pre-K, but some are not. It's weird, you know, the kids I teach are at the most important age in their development. I have such an incredible impact on them, it's scary. ( Read more... ) -

Friday I went to Columbus with Eve to look at apartments for her husband. He's in the army and stationed in Germany right now. He'll moving to Fort Benning in June, which she is really excited about (obviously). She's still finishing school at Kennesaw and it's about a two hour drive, but a hell of a lot better than Germany. Matta’s right - what happened to Live Journal? This thing used to be such a priority, something that I couldn’t wait to write in, something that I would write in just when I’m bored…same with AIM - what happened with that?
