For what it's worth, I think you should unlock the Broke legacy. But mostly because I want to reread it. :P It's a damn good story, finished or not. If it being forever unfinished really bugs you, you could always post a couple paragraph outline of what you planned to do...I've seen author's do that for fan fiction when they are unable to finish a story, no reason it can't be the same for sim stories.

Welcome to the dark side. Now's a good time to be getting into the Sims 3, since the next two EP's are Magic and Seasons, and custom content creators are coming up with new and improved stuff all the time.

Of course, it's easy to say "Oh, I won't use much CC with the Sims 3"...which is true because on one hand, you don't need to download something just for a furniture or clothing recolor. On the other hand, I'd say a good portion of my CC folder are mod's fixing EA's mistakes. So definitely a double edged sword there.
