It's almost time, Myshuno! participants! You may begin writing just as soon as the clock strikes 12:00am on October 1st in your timezone. (Which some of y'all have already hit.) Tomorrow, I'm going to be putting up this year's claim post for both Myshuno! and blackout.
For now, here are the claiming instructions, and please look them over carefully before making a claim.
What Counts For a Claim
You may cross off a prompt on your card after you have written a story/drabble for it. You may only claim one prompt per piece.
If you cross off five (or four, depending on if your row runs through the free space) prompts in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, you may claim Myshuno!
If you cross off all twenty-four prompts on your card, you may claim blackout.
How to Claim
Tomorrow, I will put up two claiming posts: one for Myshuno!, and one for blackout.
DO NOT post any of your pieces to the comm. Post them on your own journal. You will link them to the claim posts later.
DO NOT link your individual pieces to these posts as you write them. It is up to you to keep track. WAIT until you have fulfilled either Myshuno! or blackout before linking anything. (I will also put this warning on the claim posts.)
When you have enough pieces to claim either Myshuno! or blackout, compile the links to all the relevant pieces as well as your card, and leave them on the claim posts in one comment. For Myshuno!, you must state what kind of pattern you used (horizontal, diagonal, etc.), and if you edit your card to indicate which prompts have been fulfilled, that will be very helpful. Label your pieces with the prompt you used.
For example, my claim might look like this [I took the prompts from the general list, and the underlined words indicate where links would be]:
I am claiming Myshuno!
I have crossed off five prompts horizontally across the top row of my card, which can be viewed here.
The stories are:
Playing Myshuno!
First kiss
Your villain
Grilled Cheese
Trying something new
It does not have to be in that exact format, but we must be able to see your card and we must be able to view all four/five stories.
Please do NOT state any titles or any other information in your comment. We only need the stories and their corresponding prompts. You do NOT need to include the word count in your comment, but we must be able to see both the prompt and the word count on the story post in a header.
For blackout, use a similar format and link all of the pieces. You may do this in two comments if you have to, but do not comment until the entire card has been completed.
Wrting the Stories
To count, each story or drabble you write for your card must be at least 100 words long.
Label each piece with a header that includes at least the prompt you're using and the word count of the piece. I also suggest putting ratings on each of your pieces, as well as any warnings that pertain to them. Other than that, what goes in the header is up to you. As long as the mods can see both the prompt and the word count, you're good to go.
Again, post these stories on your own journal and wait to link them to the claim posts until you have completed either Myshuno! or blackout.
If You Have Questions
Leave any questions you may have about claiming in this post. You might also want to look at
our FAQs before you comment. If I forgot something, it's probably in that post.
I hope you all enjoy the challenge!
