Announcing New Summer Challenge: Poker Face!
Hello, lovely Simmers! Summertime is here and thus we are bringing you a new writing challenge. (It actually started out as a revised Go Fish, but turned out more like Poker, hence the name change! P-p-p-poker face--)
The objective of this challenge is to complete a "hand" of five different writing formats. You may use an existing story for this challenge, or start a new one, whatever suits your fancy, but the goal here is to move outside the box and do something you might not have before.
Here's how the challenge will go:
1. We have drawn up a list of 28 possible "cards," each with a different format, storytelling style, or other requirement on it. (Some examples: letter format, first person point of view, 500-word limit, poetry.)
2. When we put up the sign-up post, you will comment to that post with:
A. Your username
B. The story you're writing for
C. Five numbers between 1 and 28
3. A few days before the challenge starts, we will randomize the card list and give you your five-card "hands." Those will be the five prompts you start with.
4. Once everybody has a hand, we will put up a trading post where participants can swap cards. This is a chance to get rid of an undesirable prompt or obtain one that interests you more, however, each participant MUST always have five cards in their hand.
5. The challenge begins! Write up all five cards and you win (much like with Myshuno!)
