With the holidays behind us, it's time to start thinking about and planning for this year's Back to Middle-earth Month! SWG holds a Back to Middle-earth Month (B2MeM) event each year; this will be our fifth. Ah, no need for regrets! If it turns out that you don't like it or don't have time, you're under no obligation to stay. :) I'll be sending invites to the B2MeM mod group in just a few minutes.

I don't think I'll volunteer as I plan on joining in on this quest(cool!!) game!
Although if you guys really need extra help my email is on my info page.

Thank you! So far, we're doing pretty well in getting help, but I will definitely let you know if we come up shy. :) And I'm thrilled that you're looking forward to the event--I think it should be fun, a break from the usual fannish challenge at any rate.

I don't think I realized Back to Middle-earth Month was also for folks who aren't familiar with the Silmarillion. I don't know if I'll have the guts to participate, but I'd like to volunteer as a volunteer if you still need help. And I'll be glad to post about it at my journal.

B2MeM originally started in 2006 (I think) as a way to keep the momentum going after the last LotR movie had been released. Several groups participated that first year, including SWG (which was just a wee baby group, still in swaddling clothes). Ironically, B2MeM lost momentum after that ... along with the rest of the fandom. :) But we kept doing stuff on SWG so it became rather Silm-centric for a few years. Last year, when we made our usual plea "if any other group wants to come play, please do!" we actually got an answer from lotr_community, so it went back to being a Tolkien event rather than just a Silm event, and since that worked very well, we hope to keep it that way. :)

We appreciate both the volunteering and passing the word along! :) We're just getting rolling from the mod side of things, but we should have more details for volunteers shortly, and I will let you know as soon as we do.
