Wonderful details here--about Elrond's casual posture, how he skips the noisy steps. Very nice! :) I particularly like his remark about how he's in the middle just by living in the same house ... how true this must be of so many characters living in large and boisterous families! *pointed look at the fellas in the icon*
I was going to ask you your secret for being so productive lately ... but then I read your intro about NaNoWriMo, and I think that answered my question. ;) I did it for three years but had to skip this year past on account of starting school and having (as you know from experience! ;) no time for fun! It's very cool that you're so involved, though, and a great way to work that into this prompt!
Yay! I'm glad you liked the details-- I'm trying to work more description into things since it's not my strong point.
Oh, that isn't true just for large families-- it's true for small ones as well!

I actually wrote the catch-up ones last Tuesday at my Nano meeting (I'm lucky enough to live in an area where we meet year-round), but they needed editing before posting.
I've always been that deeply involved in Nano-- my second and third years, I was a Municipal Liaison (unofficial my first year), but graduation from college meant I left the area, so I turned to moderating. Nano truly changed my life, especially in regards to writing.
OME, I lost it with Celegorm and the multi-colored clown wig. My sister used to have a wig like that when we were kids! And Caranthir would be the one to suggest a patent, wouldn't he? As usual, brilliant--I loved it! :D
My favorite month is December, with the Christmas and New Year celebrations to look forward to. Here is my entry for the prompt, featuring our favorite Dol Amroth family:
Title - Rebirth Author: Linda Hoyland Characters/Pairing: Aragorn, Halbarad Rating: G Warnings: None Book/Source: LOTR book-verse Disclaimer - These characters all belong to the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien. This story was written for pleasure and not for financial gain
The two riders reached the summit of the hill pausing to allow their horses to rest. Beneath them, the countryside lay spread out in a patchwork of green and white, fresh leaves and spring blossoms basking in the gentle warmth of the spring sunshine. In a nearby tree, a blackbird and a thrush sang sweetly. Aragorn felt his heart soar at the sheer loveliness around him. His usually grim features relaxed into a smile.
“What pleases you so?” Halbarad enquired.
“April’s beauty,” Aragorn replied. ”Each springtime, nature’s joyful reawakening rekindles my hopes that we will one day defeat the darkness.”
*happy sigh* This was especially nice, considering that we're in April right now, and I noticed, driving to work today, that the trees are starting to bud and bloom. I understand exactly how Aragorn feels here. Spring brings with it such hope of renewal. Beautiful work, Linda! :)
Thank you, i'm delighted you enjoyed this.I love the blossom in April and my cherry trees are just starting to come out and I@m looking forward to Easter.
I used one of the mercurial monday prompts for this, specifically the one about genies and wishes. I put it in Harad and still couldn't work a jinn in, but I hope you enjoy it nevertheless.

Hopefully you'll be able to do Nano again soon!
