We are having NaNo drama!

Somehow, my local area ended up with two municipal liaisons. Our regular ML, who is also the leader of our writers' group, forgot to renew her status as local ML when she registered with NaNo this year. She corrected her oversight, but in the meantime another person had been designated ML for our area. That's how we ended up with two ML's. However

It gets better. Stymied by the fact that NaNo itself says our Sunday group is, in fact, a NaNo-sanctioned group with a registered ML, Other ML fired off a letter to our ML informing her that one of the ladies coming to the Saturday write-ins told her (Other ML) that the Sunday group "wasn't very welcoming," and for that reason, Other ML didn't consider us an "official" NaNo group. So there! Sigh.

oh geez. you know instead of fighting, they could have SHARED it and it would have been better for everyone.

We were trying to share on our end. Our ML, Rebecca, said from the start that write-ins on two different days would allow more people to participate. Other ML apparently wanted all the write-ins to be her write-ins, and any others to be "unofficial or impromptu" write-ins. Then our Mr. Status-Conscious started the "Hey, we're official and we were here first" posts on the forum, and things swirled down the toilet from there. Now we're enemy camps (in Other ML's mind anyway--we don't give a flying crap) who neither speak nor mingle. So dumb.
