All of a sudden, all my male neighbors have shaved heads and ugly, unkempt, bushy beards. Is this look a thing? What image is this look supposed to project?

it's a thing, thank you Duck Dynasty. For the beards at least. Several coworkers are sporting it too. I swear it's a defense against slights to their manhood by god knows what
